Featured Speakers for Karitos 2012
We are pleased to welcome two fantastic featured speakers that God has brought to us for our conference this year.
Matt Tommey
Having been engaged in creative ministry for over 20 years in both in the US and internationally as a worship leader, songwriter and visual artisan, Matt is the author of “Unlocking the Heart of the Artist”, Pastor of Worship Arts at King of Glory Church in Asheville, NC and Founder of The Worship Studio.
Out of his own journey of brokenness, Matt has a deep passion to see artists and creative people walk in wholeness and reveal the Glory of God through their creative expression in ways that facilitate cultural transformation and revival.
Matt is married to Tanya and they live in Asheville, NC with their son, Cameron. He regularly blogs on all things creative at http://www.theworshipstudio.org/blog and shares his artwork at http://www.matttommey.com
Glenn Kaiser
Glenn Kaiser returns to Karitos for the first time since 2007.
While many remember him as the lead singer for the pioneer Christian hard rock group, Resurrection Band, those who really know Glenn know him know him equally for his powerful teaching, his compassion for those less-fortunate, and his depth of understanding on arts and the bible.
Musically, he has recorded over 30 albums ranging from acoustic blues to rock to contemporary worship.
You will be blessed by both his music and his message at Karitos 2012.
Art on the Main Stage
The Main Stage at Karitos will be alive with art this year—old favorites, new friends and perhaps a surprise or two are in store.
We’re really excited to welcome back chalk artist/sculptor Richard Hight after an absence of several years. This year Richard will have a special treat in store for us as his soon-to-be seven-year-old son, Cole, will be working along side him.
Internationally-known calligrapher Timothy Botts creates another of his inspiring word-pictures on Friday night. Speaking of word pictures, Rev. Donald Bester will offer his own unique visual gift. Through the art of sign language, Don brings the spoken word to life for those who are hearing impaired and also to those who are not.
Gifted painter Kathleen Isaacson-Sullivan shares her impressive talent on our stage for the first time. Tony Mujica's prophetic painting takes you beyond brush strokes and splashes of color to reveal hidden light. South Carolina potter Karen DeLoach will create works in clay and plans are underway for her to teach a Potters' Master Class for those desiring to take home from the conference a piece of art of their own making.
